Renewing yourself to remain unbeatable. After the resounding success of the Cinelli Zydeco in terms of quality and sales over the last 2 years, an improved version has been introduced for 2020. Maintaining the highlights of the previous model but including improvements such as SRAM Apex HRD hydraulic disc brakes instead of mechanical ones and a slight modification to the frame geometry, bringing it closer to gravel than cyclocross. The Cinelli Zydeco Full Color 2020 is fitted with the SRAM Apex 1 group, a lightweight, reliable group that allows us to cover all possible circumstances in our outings with 11 speeds, 42 tooth chainring and 11/36 cassette.

The frame is still mounted in triple conical aluminium with Columbus tubing and the fork is the Columbus Futura, made of carbon. Its wheel arch is generous, allowing tyres of up to 40mm in 700c. As standard, it comes with the WTB Riddler in 700X37c, a tyre with a small and uniform blocking, which provides a good grip on dirt and gravel areas but maintaining a good feeling and little ballast on asphalt.

Available in sizes 49, 51, 54, 56 and 59, its price is € 1.855,00/ £1,685.00.

With the new Zydeco, two other new models were also presented. A little brother and an older one, you might say. On the one hand, we already have the Cinelli Zydeco La La Orange available. This is an economic version for cyclists who do not want to spend too much on a gravel, but are looking for performance and quality Cinelli keeping the aluminium frame and carbon fork in Columbus tube.

It has a double crankset to cope with any slope, combined with a 9-speed Sunrace cassette (11/34). The perfect pair for anyone who does not live tormented by the extra grams on their bike. The brakes are mechanical, with less maintenance than the hydraulic ones but with good dry and wet retention capacity. In this case, the space for the tires is larger than on the Zydeco Full color, tires up to 42mm can be mounted. As standard it comes with the Kenda Flintridge 35c, which has a pattern with large rectangular studs in the centre and small ones on the sides, helping to maintain the line in corners on loose ground. Besides, there are holes to install front and rear saddlebags.

Available in sizes 49, 51, 54, 56 and 59, the price is € 1,212.00 / £1,100.00.

And we come to the big news: the Cinelli King Zydeco. A gravel bike on another level. Mounted entirely on a Columbus Futura carbon frame, it accepts 700x47c and 27.5×2.1″ wheels and comes with the Fulcrum 600DB 700c thru-axle. In size M the weight of the frame is only 1 kg, with all internal wiring. Its racing geometry makes it possible to go very fast on both the road and the track and to maintain a relaxed position on trips with saddlebags.

We can choose between two configurations, one mounted with Shimano Ultegra and another more economical one with SRAM Rival 1X. The version with Ultegra group is mounted with double 46-36d crankset and 11-speed cassette 11-32d and 160mm hydraulic Ultegra brakes. The SRAM Rival 1X version has a 42 tooth single chainring and an 11-42d 11-speed cassette. The brakes are also hydraulic, also 160mm like the Ultegra version.

Also, the frame is ready to mount the Di2/EPS electronic system. As proof of the quality of the King Zydeco, last autumn at the Cycle Show it received the award for “Best Gravel Bike 2019”.

Available in sizes 49, 51, 54, 56 and 59, it costs € 2,965.00 / £ 2,695.00 in the version assembled with Ultegra and £ 3,220.00 with SRAM Rival 1X.
