Restrap

Restrap's cornerstone is to create and innovate products that improve its customers' experience, and this involves creating products from scratch or improving them, as it did with the diagonal strap. To carry out this process, they come up with their own ideas, design their products and build them until they achieve a unique product made 100% by the brand itself.

Restrap, the birth of an innovative bike accessory brand

From straps to all kinds of backpacks

Restrap's beginnings can be traced back to a sewing machine, imagination and a necessity: straps. In 2010, Nathan Hughes was 18 years old and spent a lot of his free time riding his bike in the Yorkshire hills. Nathan was happy with most of the equipment he was using, but there was one thing that didn't quite fit: the straps that attached his feet to the pedals, which broke easily. So Nathan had the idea of making his own pedal straps, as at the time there wasn't as extensive a catalogue as there is today.

Using an old leather belt, Nathan made his own pedal straps. The straps he designed were very different from those that existed at the time, usually mounted perpendicular to the pedal, but Nathan attached them diagonally, providing a better grip on the foot. Nathan's invention was a success. After making pedal straps for himself, his friends became interested and also wanted bike straps. Nathan kept improving the product, until he ventured into sewing bicycle bags, panniers and all kinds of bicycle accessories.

The growth of Restrap

With an increasing number of products being manufactured and customer interest, Restrap went from strength to strength. Leaving behind his small workshop where he made his own products, Nathan formed a tight-knit team of outdoor enthusiasts who work on all Restrap's production and product innovation in one place. Today, they are based on the outskirts of Leeds, Yorkshire.

Restrap's work is 100% handmade using sustainable and zero-mileage materials, produced in the UK. In this way Restrap ensures that everything meets their high quality standards.

Its philosophy and purpose

Restrap's cornerstone is to create and innovate products that improve the customer experience, and this means creating products from scratch or improving them as they did with the diagonal strap. To carry out this process, they come up with their own ideas, design their own products and build them until they achieve a unique product that is 100% made by the brand itself.

For Restrap, respecting the environment is essential. Leeds is a Yorkshire country town where nature and tranquillity reign supreme. The Restrap team uses the weekends to cycle around the city to enjoy nature and test their own products.
